Stepping slowly and gingerly around the rocks she made her way back to shore. Much of a summer day spent frolicking in the water. A day she would forever treasure despite the one unfortunate circumstance.
The still cold lake water had kept the pain at bay but now was the time she had to leave the water to find salve for the burn. The rays of the sun, indifferent to her happenstance continued to display in majesty.
