Summer

She roamed about her woods, meadows and gardens seeing everything was as it should be. Birds, sea-life, burrowers and forest creatures finding all the gifts to meet their hunger, shelter and winter storage needs. Everything seemed in place yet a nagging feeling persisted telling her something was wrong.

She saw him waiting in the distance, something he always did and heard him call out to her, “Summer, what is holding you up?”

Suddenly she knew, it was her cyclic time for menopause. The days were growing hotter and seemed longer. She called back to him, “Autumn, do not worry. I’ll arrive as I always have. My ovulation is readying to nap is all.”

In faith I write this in hopes global warming is a natural phase.
